Rather than testing, organizing, standardizing, systematizing, and proving the efficacy of these techniques, Jacob helped to spread the word of the healing power of Magnetism by publishing his studies and practices as author. He has thirteen published works, and as editor commented on five important publications of past magnetism. He is also a much-needed lecturer, disseminating and training new Magnetism adepts to treat patients in several cities in Brazil, as well as abroad.

Jacob was the main force behind the World Meeting of Spiritist Magnetizers, which is now in its 12th year. Here new advances and results are presented and debated among the hundreds of scholars and practitioners of these healing techniques.

He was born on February 1952 in Teresina, in Piauí State, in northeastern Brazil. Later, he moved to Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte State, where he grew up and graduated in civil engineering from UFRN (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte).
Influenced by his mother, Maria Dagmar Falcão de Melo, who was a follower of the spiritist movement, Jacob attended the schools of the Spiritist Federation of Rio Grande do Norte from the time he was a teenager.

Demonstrating a deep interest in the study of phenomena, he soon began to write texts and articles on various topics in newspapers of the local Spiritist movement, beginning with the systematic research of treatments through passes. The pass is the imposition of hands, with energetic direction through thought, with the desire to reestablish misalignments in the energy fields through the chakras of the sick.
